Xango FAQ

This are some of the questions asked by people to us as Distributors. I will share it here with the possible answers, so that others can make use of it.

What is XanGo Juice?

Using the whole fruit of the Garcinia mangostana in a patented formulation, XanGo™ Juice dietary supplement is the original mangosteen dietary supplement.

Does Xango Mangosteen Juice contain any banned substances?

No. Rigorous testing from independent Laboratory has found Xango Mangosteen Juice to be Free of Athletic Banned Substances. It is a product with “zero tolerance” for masking agents, stimulants and other compounds banned by WADA.

What are xanthones?

While most people know about the antioxidant benefits of vitamins C and E, far fewer are aware of the incredibly potent antioxidant power of xanthones. Xanthones are natural chemical substances that have won high praise from numerous scientists and researchers. Xanthones have been studied for their medicinal potential, since they demonstrate a number of pharmaceutical properties.

Why the name “XanGo”?

XanGo derives its name from two words: XAN from xanthones and GO from mangosteen.
Why hasn’t a mangosteen dietary supplement been brought to market before XanGo Juice?
Many researchers around the world have wondered this same thing. The mangosteen and its xanthone-rich pericarp, or rind, have been used in traditional medicine for thousands of years, and xanthones have been the subject of extensive positive scientific research. But until Joe Morton and the other founders of XanGo took the steps necessary to bring this fruit and its benefits to the world, no one else saw the vision. XanGo is the original, a true category creator..

Is XanGo Juice approved by the FDA?

As a dietary supplement, XanGo is considered a food, and does not therefore require FDA approval. The FDA does not offer opinions on or approval of dietary supplements. Independent laboratory testing confirms the safety and purity of all components of XanGo Juice.

Where does the mangosteen fruit come from?

Although this exotic fruit can be grown in any location offering a tropical climate, it is native to Southeast Asia.Is the harvesting of the mangosteen fruit environmentally friendly?
Protecting the environment is important to XanGo. If only for this reason, XanGo would always use care in harvesting. But there is a practical reason, as well. It takes many years for the mangosteen tree to mature and produce fruit. Because of this, it is critical that the care of the tree and all harvesting techniques meet the highest of standards.

What are the ingredients in XanGo Juice?

While the mangosteen pericarp is rich in xanthones, it tastes very bitter. This bitter flavor can fight with the naturally delicious pulp inside the fruit. Because of this, additional natural fruit juices are blended, according to a patented formula, to create Xango’s unique taste.

Is the amount of xanthones per bottle standardized?

Yes. Because of an exacting process, each bottle of XanGo contains the same amount of xanthones.

Why does it seem that some bottles have more pericarp than others?

The pericarp, or rind, of the mangosteen is rich in natural xanthones. Even when pureed, the pericarp elements remain a solid suspended in liquid. Every bottle contains the same XanGo formula, but because settling occurs, some bottles will seem to contain more solids. Simply shake vigorously before serving.

What is the recommended intake of XanGo Juice?

1-3 oz. daily. However, many people choose to vary from this amount, tailoring consumption to their personal preferences.

Should I continue taking vitamins and minerals if I drink XanGo Juice regularly?

Absolutely. XanGo contains natural xanthones from the whole fruit of the mangosteen that are not present in vitamins and minerals, and, likewise, vitamins and minerals have benefits that may not be present in XanGo in the amounts wanted.

Is it safe to take XanGo Juice with medications?

We know of no harmful interactions between the XanGo product and any medication. But it is important to be safe, so it’s always best to consult your physician if you have any questions

Is XanGo Juice safe for senior citizens, children and lactating and pregnant women?

Yes. XanGo is made from the whole-fruit puree of the mangosteen fruit. It is similar to eating any common fruit. The only real difference between mangosteen and other fruits is the high concentration of beneficial xanthones found in the Garcinia mangostana. The amount of XanGo consumed may be varied for the body size of a person, and you should always check with a trusted physician before beginning any new dietary program.

How safe is the production of XanGo Juice?

We have a strategic production partnership with WILD Flavors Inc., the ISO 9001-certified food-and-beverage-industry giant. Before you consume XanGo it goes through more than 220 quality tests to ensure it meets the highest standards of cleanliness and quality in the world.

Is XanGo Juice pasteurized or heat processed?

Yes. Government regulations require either pasteurization for the safety of consumers or a warning label of possible microbial contamination in products that are not pasteurized. Extensive research reveals that these processes do not affect the xanthone content or efficacy in XanGo.

Are there any preservatives in XanGo Juice?

Sodium benzoate is added to ensure the safety of XanGo. Sodium benzoate carries the GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) designation by the FDA. It is used as an antimicrobial agent in very small amounts, and is added as part of the world-recognized Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) in food and beverage processing.

What is the shelf life of XanGo Juice?

While XanGo boasts a shelf life of two years in an unopened bottle, it is always preferable to check the “Best by” date on the bottom of each bottle.

What kinds of sugars are used in XanGo Juice?

There are no added sugars in XanGo, only naturally occurring fructose.

Xango Mangosteen Juice Suggested Use:

"Here's the rule of thumb for dosing: if illnesses are already present, three doses a day would be optimal, if possible, before meals. One-to-three oz per dose. For prevention, a single dose a day is plenty but again, the amount can be from one to three oz. Economics are most often the limiting factor in how much per dose. There is no upper limit but I see no real benefit to more than 2oz per dose in most situations."
- J Fredrick Templeman, M.D.

Xango Distributors

To all those who are wondering how the compensation plan works, here I will briefly explain about it.
Basically the plan is divided into 4:
1. Retail
2. Power Start
3. Unilevel
4. Global Pool

Retail-> Basically this plan applies to all distributors. We purchase 1 box at RM 500, which makes the price of each bottle at RM 125. The selling price for the bottle is RM 160, therefore the extra RM 35 is our profit per bottle.
Power Start-> This plan pays the current distributor when he/she successfully sponsors another person to become a distributor. If we are on 1ADP then we are able to get 30% from any purchases made by the person we sponsor. But if we are on 2ADP, we will get the usual 30% and another extra 15% from the purchase made by the person our downline sponsors. Pays weekly.
Unilevel-> This plans compensates all distributors on the network and pays up to 9 levels with up to 50% of all sales made. How many plans you are qualified to earn from depends on what level you are...let it be 1k, 5k, 20k, Premier, 100k or 200k. We will discuss more about this when we meet up. Pays monthly.
Global Pool-> This plan is paid out quaterly. In a year there will be 4 payments, every 3 months once. Only those who are at Premier level and above will get paid from this plan. So the faster you get up the levels...the more money you make.

A Look at Xanthones and Mangosteens

We've all heard the news for years about how important it is to get the right amount of antioxidants in order to keep our bodies healthy and ward of disease. Now there's a new classification of antioxidants called xanthones, first discovered in the mangosteen fruit, which are poised to be one of the biggest discoveries of modern science in terms of health benefits.

While the concept of antioxidants may seem even more confusing when adding in another aspect, xanthones are fairly easy to understand, given their clear-cut, scientifically-proven benefits.

What are Xanthones?

Technically put, xanthones are a set of chemical compounds that can be synthetically produced, but are more often found and more potent in their natural settings. Xanthones are powerful antioxidants in a family of phytonutrients.

To date, researchers have discovered and classified approximately 200 xanthones, 40 of which are found in the mangosteen fruit. As a matter of fact, xanthones were first discovered when scientists began studying the health benefits of mangosteen based on its traditional indigenous medical uses.

Research into the medicinal properties of xanthones found in the mangosteen began in the 1970s, and gradually picked up pace as scientists began finding more exciting nutritional properties. Between 1996 and 2005, an exponential amount of research has been done in regards to mangosteen and its xanthones, and even more studies are in the works.

Xanthones in Mangosteen

To recap, xanthones are powerful antioxidants, and out of the 200 xanthones known to science, 40 of them are found in mangosteen.

But what do the antioxidant properties of the xanthones in mangosteen do for you? Antioxidants function as a balance for free radicals in the body. Free radicals are potentially harmful, yet oftentimes natural substances in your body that, when left free reign, build up and cause diseases like cancer, heart disease, and more.

The xanthones function to travel through your body, literally mopping up the free radicals on their way, leaving your body cleaner and healthier than before.

Some of the most important xanthones found in mangosteen include:

Alpha-mangostin
Beta-mangostin
Gamma-mangostin
Garcinone
Garcinone A
Garcinone C
Garcinone D
Mangostanol
Gartanin

These, among other xanthones, have been touted by independent researchers to have properties to include antiinflammatory, anticonvulsant, antiallergic, antitumor, and antiplatelet, to name just a few.

Known Benefits of Xanthones

Scientific research has made it abundantly clear that no other fruit compares in its health benefits to mangosteen, due to its xanthones and other nutritional properties.

Helping to fight cancer is just one of the many properties that different xanthones perform. For instance, one study performed in Japan showed that the xanthone alpha-mangostin had apparent properties that suppressed the development of tumors. Another, performed in China, found the xanthone garcinone E to show significant anticancer effects in terms of liver, lung, and gastric cancer cells.

In addition, some xanthones have shown significant antimicrobial effects in terms of fighting MRSA (methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus), which is a bacterial strain known for its tenacious resistance to pharmacologic antibiotics. One scientific study also showed that alpha-mangostin, beta-mangostin, and garcinone B to have pronounced inhibition effects on a strain of tuberculosis.

As if that isn't enough, xanthones have also been scientifically proven to help lower LDL, the bad cholesterol, by protecting the LDL from coming into contact with free radicals, thus leaving it unable to oxidize and attach to arterial walls and cause atherosclerosis.

Taking into account the anticancer, antiinflammatory, antimicrobial, and cholesterol-lowering effects of the xanthones found in mangosteen, here is just a sampling of the other many benefits that science has either researched or is in the process of discovering:

Antiviral
Helps lower blood pressure
Helps fight fatigue
Antidepressant
Prevents stomach ulcers
Aids with weight loss
Antiaging
Combats diarrhea
Pain reducer
Heart protective
Analgesic
Anti-parkinsonian and anti-Alzheimer
Lowers fevers
Builds immunity to disease
Antiallergen
Antifungal
Antiparasitic

Indeed, even now some health practitioners are suggesting drinking mangosteen juice for relief to people who suffer from the following diseases:

Infections
Skin ailments like psoriasis, seborrhea, or eczema
Joint problems and arthritis
Dementia
Anxiety and depression
Cancer
Chronic pain
Chronic fatigue syndrome
Ulcers
Diabetes

The Fruit with Xanthone Power

As time goes by, it's becoming less and less uncanny how traditional and folk medicine seems to have a grasp on the nutritional properties of food better than modern science has in the past. Indeed, it seems in some cases, especially in that of the mangosteen, science is working to catch up.

The mangosteen fruit is believed to have originated in the Moluccas and the Sunda Islands. It's been used for decades upon decades by people from Thailand, the Philippines, and China in folk medicine to treat dysentery, skin disorders like eczema, diarrhea and cystitis, among other ailments.

One of the reasons why mangosteen is only now gaining notoriety and popularity is because, for many years, direct importation of the fruit from other countries has been illegal, based on governmental regulations to help quarantine the Asian fruit fly. Unfortunately, the mangosteen tree doesn't grow well in most or all climates in the United States, so attempts to grow the fruit here have been relatively unsuccessful.

However, as science has begun proving the unsurpassed medical value of the rare mangosteen fruit and its xanthones, juices and preserves are becoming more and more readily available.

In terms of taste, the mangosteen itself is considered one of the most exquisitely delicious fruits nature has to offer. Often called the "Queen of Fruits," the taste of mangosteen is unique, but is often described as sweet and tangy with hints of pear, ripe strawberry, and grape.

After sampling mangosteen, it's easy to see why this fruit is so popular in Thailand due to its taste. And after learning about the benefits of the xanthones found in mangosteen, it's even more clear how nutritionally beneficial this amazing fruit is.

What are Xanthones???

Xanthones

To understand how special Xanthones are we need to first understand how the body creates disease and illness.

In recent years scientists have made discoveries that are leading them to believe that all illness begins at the cellular level through a process called cellular oxidation. It's this process that breaks down the cell and causes a change in cellular DNA. Cellular Oxidation is caused by millions of molecules in our bodies called Free Radicals.

Free Radicals

Free Radicals are molecules in the body that are missing an electron. Cellular Oxidation occurs when free radicals in the body attack health cells. These Free Radicals go through the body attacking health cells and attempting to steal there missing electron from a health cell.

Once the free radical is successful in stealing an electron the DNA makeup of the healthy cell is changed and disease is created. It is this process that scientists are linking to almost every known disease including aging. If we could stop oxidation in our bodies completely there is a chance that aging would stop altogether. Everyone knows that it is impossible to completely stop cellular oxidation, but there are things we can do to slow down the process and give our bodies the weapons it needs to fight free radicals.

These weapons come in the form of antioxidants. Antioxidants allow free radicals to take one of there electrons in effect neutralizing the free radical and making it pass through the body naturally and harmlessly. Out of all the antioxidants on the market there is one class of antioxidants that are more powerful then all others and that is the Xanthone family of antioxidants.

Xanthones are a natural occurring compound found in only two families of plants. There are currently over two hundred known Xanthones in nature. Most Xanthones can only be found in small micro organisms and forms of wood. Neither of these are very consumable items. This leaves the mangosteen fruit as natures answer to consumable Xanthones.

Scientists in recent years have found over 40 Xanthones located in the pericarp, or rind, of the mangosteen fruit. This unprecedented amount of Xanthones makes the Mangosteen fruit the highest concentration of Xanthones on the planet.

If you want to give your body the weapons that it needs to live more health and heal its self faster then you need to be supplementing with a powerful mangosteen based dietary supplement.

Xanthones and Mangosteens

Mangosteen - The Fruit

Mangosteen or botanically Garcinia Mangostana, is the Queen of Fruits for the Southeast Asians. The fruit of Mangosteen is found in abundance in the Tropical regions receiving heavy rains. The rainforest fruit is borne on an almost 10-year old mature tree, which can bear, as many as thousands of fruits at a time during its season that comes only twice every year after 6 months.

Mangosteen does not represent a mango species but is the size of an apple. It has a thick rind and a white pulp inside. It is also found to be rich in minerals and vitamins. Mangosteen has been one of nature's best kept secrets by the local South Asian people who use the "pericarp" or the rind of Mangosteen for its proven medicinal and pharmaceutical benefits.

Mangosteen pulp has a mild sweet flavor that attracts an instant liking by everyone. No wonder that Mangosteen is liked for its "Heavenly flavor" among native folk people. Mangosteen is consumed mainly in juice form, even carrying a patent for a Low Carbohydrate health drink!

Mangosteen is not only a rich source of vitamins B1, B2, B6, C, potassium, iron and calcium, but it also contain phytonutrients called Xanthones. Xanthones are understood to demonstrate exceptional antioxidant powers. So much so that researchers have found Mangosteen pericarp to contain more Xanthones than any other source on earth!

Xanthones - Make the difference

Xanthones are bio-chemical substances that are being researched for their superb anti-allergic and anti-inflammatory powers. Xanthones found in the Mangosteen pericarp exhibit strong antioxidant activity as they disarm free radicals in the body and enhance and support body's immune system. They are known to exhibit enormous pharmaceutical benefits. Few of these are listed below:
" Provide microbiological balance support
" Help immune system maintenance
" Enhance joint flexibility
" Facilitate positive mental support
" Promote healthier cholesterol levels
" Act as an anti-allergic agent
" Act as an anti-cancer agent
" Terminate various fungi and viruses
" Provide much needed powerful antioxidants and healthy nutrients
" Catalyze build healthier cells
" Improve blood circulation
As research continues, Xanthones are found to cater to a wide variety of health concerns.
Mangosteen as a whole fruit (with both its pulp and pericarp) acts as a single source for Xanthones.

Researchers have found the following Xanthones in Mangosteen*:
" 1,3,6,7 tetrahydroxyxanthone
" 2,4,5 -tryhydroxy-1-methoxyxanthone xanthones
" 1,2,3,4,5,8 -tetraoxygenated xanthone

XanGo - The high-energy juice

Southeast Asians have used the nutritious benefits of Mangosteen for centuries to cure their ailments. The puree from the fruit has now been patented and juice is being sold all over the world. It is commonly known as XanGo - derived from Xanthones and ManGosteen. XanGo represent the class of phytonutrients that are poised to define the future of dietary supplements. XanGo contains maximum amount of Xanthones than in any other drink and makes use of the Mangosteen fruit in its most natural form.

However, Western Nations didn't get to know much about Mangosteen because the fruit was predominantly found in Southeast Asian rainforests. Therefore, a lot of research has been done in these regions only.

The natural product from Mangosteen was introduced in US in November 2002. XanGo is a natural low carbohydrate diet (only 3 cal per serving) and sold more products in its first year than Pepsi did in its 34th year. One bottle of XanGo drink contains as many as 40 antioxidants whereas there are not more than 8 in any other food.
XanGo claims of several success stories where patients have been cured of arthritis and diabetes. As a bonus, the heavenly flavor of the drink makes it ideal for consumption at any time of the day.
Three ounces of beverage was daily ingested on some subjects for 3 weeks and the following results were seen:
1. The subject was a 56-year-old male suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, muscle aches, fatigue and dysthemia. After a regiment of the mangosteen nutraceutical composition, the subject experienced improvement in mood, energy and muscle aches in the shoulders and back.

2. The subject was a 66-year-old male suffering from a severe allergy reaction causing desquamation of palms, fingers, soles of feet and the inside of the mouth and esophagus. After a regiment of the mangosteen nutraceutical composition, the subject was completely cured.
